Nintendo is getting more serious about piracy, so much so that they are actually willing to deactivate the 3D on your 3DS. Piracy of games has been a big deal around the video game industry, and Nintendo is taking action, announcing that they will deactivate the system if they find out you are playing games illegally, seems like they are going beyond what they tried to do with the firmware updates on the dsi.

Whoa now that a big call! Nintendo haven't really been in the business of banning pirates unlike Sony or Microsoft but they are certainly taking a more aggressive approach this time around!
