The Australian Socceroos have once again proven there dominance in the Asian Cup with a 6-0 semi final win again Uzbekistan! The socceroos started well, and were only denied by an amazing save by Temur Juraev, the Uzbekistan goalkeeper. But after just 4 minutes, Harry Kewell broke the deadlock after Brisbane Roar Midfielder Matt McKay put a through ball straight to Kewell, and he finished it off with an amazing finish. Sasa Ognenovski then doubled the lead at 40 minutes, when the free kick from David Carney was deflected off the defence, and was put straight at his feet, to easily put it away. In the second half, Australia showed no mercy, as Matt McKay put a through ball to David Carney, and he finished it very easily, ending Uzbekistan's hopes for a comeback. Ulugbek Bakaev then received his second yellow card in the 67th minute, and was given marching orders. With Uzbekistan down to 10 men, Australia dominated even more than at the start of the game. in the 73rd minute, Robbie Kruse made a long run to the edge of the box, but passed it to Brett Emerton, instead of scoring himself, and emerton put it away very easily, making the score line 4-0, and meaning there was no hope for Uzbekistan whatsoever. Carl Valeri scored in the 81st minute, when a pass across the box reached his feet and he kicked it into the back of the net, and then Robbie Kruse, the Melbourne Victory striker made his move, when his long range effort slipped from Temur Juraev's hands, making the final score line 6-0 Australia are hot favorites to win the final, where they face Japan after they beat Korea Republic 5-2 in penalties. The game went into penalties after neither could score after the second half, finishing it 1-1. The game shall be a very heated one, and will be awesome to watch. This is SC(+)PE signing out

Another great review by Scope! I can't believe Uzbek collapsed like that so badly. Australia was cruising since the whistle blew though there were heated moments in their half. 6 goals! That is one hell of a game. I could only get that kind of score playing FIFA lol! Anyway, I hope Australia wins! (And beat that Japan team who won against Skorea in penalty) AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE! |
