The Netherlands are the first team to make it through to the 2010 World Cup final, after beating Uruguay 3-2, and are now waiting to find out who they will play when Spain and Germany play tomorrow morning. The Netherlands took the lead, with a stunning goal 35 yards out from the 35 year old captain, Van Bronckhorst. Soon after, Uruguay hit back with another stunner by Diego Forlan tricked the goalkeeper and was sent straight into the back of the net. In the second half, Wesley Sneijder scored a very lucky goal, after it took a slight deflection off the Uruguay defender Maximiliano Pereira. 3 minutes later, a beautiful cross by Dirk Kuyt met Robben's head and put Netherlands 3-1 up. Near the end, Uruguay defender Maximiliano Pereira was able to score a late consolation, but they could not push for a 3rd goal. |
