I'm currently getting quotes for contents insurance but am finding that no one will do an online quote for the amount I want to be insured for, which is $125000. Now having worked in the industry I know that if there is a sniff of you being underinsured they don't pay out so I assumed that the whole house was wiped out and calculated how much it would cost to refurnish and replace absolutely everything and that was the figure we came to. How much is everyone else insured for ? Have I got this wrong ? |

I've managed to get a quote with Coles which is on a par with AAMI but when I looked at what we're currently paying ..... it's DOUBLE :omg: We've not made any claims so it looks like we're paying for everyone elses. I can understand why people don't have any insurance  |

I've just used the NRMA Home contents calculator, and came up with.... $205,180  http://www.nrma.com.au/home-insurance/home-contents/calculator.shtml I paid $983 last Jan for Building and contents cover with AAMI, and the contents cover was for... (don't know, can't find it) but it was $90k in 2006/07 |

I've just done a home calculator thingy and ours was $123,000 so I'm happy with that. So far AAMI and Coles are the cheapest at $750/$800 whilst GIO came in at $2000 :omg: |
