ADSL providers are changing prices all the time, as they come out with the new lower plan prices.

They will very rarely keep you updated with their new plans, so it is up to you to check them every so often.

I checked mine the other week. I was paying $69.90 pm, but their new plan is $49.90, for the same speed and limits.

I switched  Saves me $240 a year, for a plan change fee of $25.

Did you pay the fee as you were locked into a contract ?

I changed our plan with iPrimus a couple of weeks ago, $109 per month quoted on phone for ADSL2 50 somthings per month, telephone line rental and all local, national and calls to Aus mobiles included. When I checked online the same plan was $99 so phoned them back and they changed it for me, but said to get that price you have to sign up online. I had to phone them as was changing plans, so they gave me the online price, but only after an arguement.

I think this one just charges for any downward changes. And I suppose a price drop is classed as a downward change :)

I've been with this ISP since 2005, my first ADSL was 1.5Mb and 1Gb download allowance and cost $45.00 per month.
My current one is 24Mb with 100Gbs download allowance and costs $49.90 pm, but would cost only $39.90 if I lived closed to Brisbane.

I've just altered mine but I'm with Westnet and they told me about the better offer. I now get an extra 5Gb and put up to ADSL 2 and it's cheaper!

Yep, really is lots... 1 Terabyte = 1,000 Gigabytes.

I use about 25 Gigabytes each month.

Apparently in the last three months, the Optus Fusion $99 plan has increased its data limit from 15GB to 50GB and then to 500GB, all for the same price.

Maybe now it is even up to 1TB ? If not it soon will be.

This is mine for $49 pm (ADSL) + $24 pm for phone line + $20 pm for unlimited calls = $93 pm.

If I was in a cable area this would be $39 (ADSL) + $20 (calls) = $59pm
Posted Image

13.75 Mb/s = 112,640 kbps
13.75 Mb/s = 14,080 kBps

The conversion always confuses me...

13.75 megabit (Mb) = 14,080 kilobit (kb)
13.75 megabyte (MB) = 112,640 kilobit (kb)
13.75 megabyte (MB) = 14,080 kilobyte (kB)
13.75 megabit (Mb) = 1.71875 megabyte (MB)

Assuming yours is a small b (kb) and not a large B (kB), then yours is:
2640 kilobit (kb) = 2.578125 megabit (Mb)
2640 kilobit (kb) = 0.322265625 megabyte (MB)

However, if yours is a large B, then yours is:
2640 kilobyte (kB) = 2.578125 megabyte (MB)
2640 kilobyte (kB) = 20.625 megabit (Mb)

How confusing is the Tb and TB ? One is 8 times larger than the other.

:banghead-ground: Oh why did I start........ where's the valium ............

I wonder if any of the above is correct, or have I really lost it today...
