ive noticed i have to do this frequently lately, otherwise pootah slows to a crawl.
when i do, it seems to take several minutes to delete 'add-on data' = what is this? is it the crap that acumulates from the games we play on facebook?
ive set the computer to delete browsing history when i shut it off, with my normal websites i visit now saved in favourites - is it ok to do this or will it just slow the computer down having all those weblinks in favourites?

thank you for any words of wisdom :flowers:

Good question. I'm trying to learn to look after my little lappy myself, as if I give it to Terry it never comes back the same!!!!

I've never had to do that, although it may get done when I run my Advanced SystemCare program.

Not sure if I get the same though, as I use Chrome as my browser.

What you've done is good Sue and a better way than you were doing it before.

The add-on data is probably remnants of Flash that can be a bit notorious for hanging around when it is no longer needed.
A prime source of Flash is free online games so it could well be from FB.

Is it safe for me to delete EVERYTHING from my browsing history? It flashes up this bright yellow warning sign, which then gives me the heebie jeebies and makes me stop.

Java is required for some things but normally the program tells you when and offers a download so it should be okay.

Java is a pain leaving crap around.

I run Forefox and there are 5 old versions of Java Console under Extensions. You can disable them but not remove them. They don't do any harm but clutter up the list up.
