Something I read today, that I wasn't aware of, for users of Windows 7.

With Windows 7, you can use the built-in backup program to save an image backup on an external hard drive.

In effect this means having a copy of your hard drive on another source, so that you can easily restore a full backup.

With prices of external hard drives so low these days, it may be economical.

Harvey Norman Prices:
1,000 GB (1TB) Ext Drive $68
2,000 GB (2TB) Ext Drive $89

Do a backup each week, and you always have a recent copy of everything.

I could probably keep about 4 or 5 backups on a 2TB drive, and delete the oldest one each week, to make room for the new one.
