It's a while since we did it but we have transferred money both to and from Aus. We used Ozforex and Tranzfers who are the same company. I think Ozforex was for amounts above $2000 and Tranzfers less than $2000. They were always competitive and at the times I did transfers I remember they were the cheapest I could find. You do need to set up an account with them in advance due to money laundering regulations but they are pretty quick doing that. |

Depends what sort of amounts you are talking. If I am sending money to Gemma for birthday pressies or anything like that, I use paypal. |

I've been trying to work out which of the many options is best for a friend, very recently, and I have to admit I am now totally confused. Some are fee free, some have a higher rate margin than others, some are... I gave up. Ozforex and Tranzfers are quite easy ... :) |

Ozforex was a doddle and I paid a $15 flat fee but still came out with more GBP than if I'd converted elsewhere with no fee. Mind you, when I was talking to them it came out that I'd transferred our cash with UKforex when we migrated and suddenly my rate improved !! |
