Who should be Prime Minister of Australia?

The answer to this will vary in different areas, but my area had a poll in the local paper, (Redland Times) and this is the result so far:

40.6% Tony Abbott
21.8% Malcolm Turnbull
21.8% Kevin Rudd
15.8% Julia Gillard

Total Votes: 1,656
Poll Date: 28 June, 2011

Quite a result for a seat that Labor had comfortably held between 2001 and 2009 in the State parliament, and had NEVER been held by the Liberals until 2009.

A lot of people don't like Tony Abbott... which, going by those results, doesn't say much for Julia Gillard though does it

I do feel that we are in a situation that none of them have any really strong pull factor at the moment.

Maybe it is now a case of "Better the devil that we DON'T know, than the one we DO know"

I vote you
Maybe I should get citizenship then, and stand for the job :D

My first policies:

Crime: Send all convicted criminals to an island on the other side of the world....
OK, I will compromise.. Penalties fit the crime... no more soft judges, 5 years = 5 years, not 2.
Violent crime = compulsory time, not suspended.

Education: Change school hours: Start at 10 finish at 4, but have supervised study rooms open from 8am, for those that want to, or have to, arrive early.

Health: 100% free dental for under 18's, Free check-ups for all adults, under a certain income threshold, and $400? free (non cosmetic) dental work each year.

I have so many ideas, I should create a manifest and publish it..

However, there is one that would not be popular, but would be necessary to pay for the rest..

Taxation: I would need access to treasury figures to work this one out...
