All weekend I have stressed out about telling my bosses I dont want to work the full time night hours any more. I withdrew my application for the permanent role and this morning I emailed my bosses telling them I wanted to return to my old telephone nursing job with my original part time hours. I felt sick sending the email but relieved when I had done it. 30 mins ago, manager phoned me up, talked me up about being honest with them and how they respected me for that blah blah blah. Then talked me into staying in the role until a replacement can be found, should be in next 2 weeks. Then before I could catch my breath or had time to think, he mentioned me taking over as acting team leader for another team. The whole point of me not wanting a team leader role is because its full time and I dont want to work full time. Anyway I dont know how it happened but I ended up agreeing to this new role. At least its day shfits and not nights, so better in that sense, but its still full time. How do some people have the ability to completely change your mind and get you to agree to something you dont want. I cant believe he has done this to me  He seriously made it sound like it would be fine and I found myself agreeing :she: I could honeslty kick myself - I just want my old job back  But then maybe I could give this other team leader role a go and see how I get on :banghead2: I have the feeling that I will be back to square one in another few weeks :brickwall: |

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. But these people have the gift of the gab and before you have "come round" we're all drinking water. Guess that's why they are in their jobs. |

Its true I dont hate hate hate the job, more dislike it due to not knowing what I am doing, but that will get better in time. The issue I have is working full time, especially full time nights. I have no time for anything else, housework, shopping, socialising etc. I have not worked full time for 20 years, no wonder I am having a hard time adjusting  |

Days may be much better for you Mel, as for everything else, shop online, do you still have your cleaner? if not get them back. Then sit back and enjoy the fact that although it's full time at least you can do it in your jammys  |
