im determined im not going to ask the kids ... but i keep getting a little bubble message at the bottom of the screen reminding me i have files ready to burn to disc. whats happened is ive finally got round to finishing off a uni module, and have to submit an electronic copy of my work (for the plagiarism scan thingy). so having finally got it to save to disc, and what i thought id done correctly (went through the burn disc wizard), im now wondering if ive just burned a blank document to disc and not the original essay :ooer: . im using msn office word 2007 - i dont like it to be honest - much prefer the previous version, as this just automatically saves the document to the previous file ... so wouldnt save to disc like i wanted. so i copy and pasted it (all 2187 words of it) onto a new document and clicked save to disc ... so it went through the burn wizard then closed the wizard when it had finished (I ticked the box to say close wizard when disc burned). so have I just done nothing to the disc (is formatting old fashioned? i coudlnt find anything that let me format it) and therefore submitted a blank document/disc? or is it cos i is stoopid and ive done it wrong/right?? deadline is 1st july so i guess if i havent done it right the uni have time to get back in touch and ask me to re-submit it. help!! someone?? plleeeeeeeease :upset: |

What happens when you burn a disc is that the data is first transferred to an area from where it can be burnt to the disc. You then burn it to the disc, and in theory the system should be clever enough to then remove this extra copy of the files from that spare location. It may not have done that. There may have been a box to tick that says remove from here or something similar. I'm not sure, but I have had that same bubble as you, and eventually just go in and delete it. Can't recall how though. To be 100% sure, can you call the Uni and ask if you sent them a disc with data on it, or a blank one ? |
