With our new house.... Its old and creaky and quirky with doors that close themselevs cos the floors are so uneven, its freezing up here, on tank water, has some of the grossest carpets I have ever seen and have had tradies in for 2 weeks! BUT OMG! I just love it :blushing: So far we have put a ceiling and fully lined and isulated (shittiest job in the world. com!) a 6x6 meter workshop. We are just waiting for the plasterer to finish and the sparky to do the second fit then Niall can go out there and my work room is next... We have put curtains over the external doors which made a huge difference with the cold. I have also taken out the stupid island bench thing in the kitchen and spun it round to the wall, moved the heating duct and got the plumber in to move the dishwasher so that it faces into the kitchen rather than the otherside- what goes through some peoples heads is beyond me! I have built the chooks their new temporary home, but during the day they are free ranging and are sooo cute  We have also decided to get a goat to mow the lawn :nosepicker: This weekend we have to possom proof the workshop roof, put in some drainage at the top of the drive, carpet the workshop and get Nialls stuff out and then do my workroom. We sit out on the deck watching the Kookaburras, king parrots, rosellas, cockatoos, currawongs, wrens etc etc in the trees listening to puffing Billy making his way up the valley and I have to pinch myself. I have cooked (rather impressively I have to say  ) on my Ever Hot combustion stove and lit the fire every evening and I am at home, at peace....its bloody fab :ecstatic: |

Sounds fantastic, once when we were little my Mum got a goat as she had great ideas about it keeping the grass nice and short. Anyway, she put in the garden with all the nice green grass and it ate the washing off the clothes line  |

Stupidly I havent taken any befores! But I'll take some afters in the coming days. Debs, the island bench was just in a silly place and had the dishwasher b ehind it so when you unloaded it you had to trek accross the kitchen, I'll see if I can find the agents pic to show you. The goat is to be in the back paddock, theres nothing in there only lawn, gum trees and a stable so no probs with it eating anything that I dont want it to, I'm looking at the little pygmies, they are so cute! I bought myself a nice shiny toy today too   |
