It could have been anything, it was for charity. Let's face it, the owner has a Philip Treacy hat, owned and worn by the fifth in line to the throne at the wedding of the future king together with the provenance and it could (possibly perhaps) be worth even more one day. Unlikely, granted but who cares, two worthy charities have got 40 grand out of it. Good for Beatrice I say.
