I was reading something about 50% of 14-17 year olds use sunbeds, which cause melonoma.

They have banned under 18s using sunbeds ... although i doubt that will make much difference. i know 2 colleagues who have had melanomas removed, yet a couple of auxillaries we work with both get out in the sun and intentionally get burnt ''in preparation for going on holiday to egypt'' .... :mah: both been told in no uncertain terms they are both total knobheads

mine get washed in factor 50 ... ... seriously though, even in the early summer we are having ive lathered them in it - mal took sam fishing last week and forgot the sunblock, came home burnt, i was so bloody angry!!

 @ Bix - sales of st tropez has gone up recently ... def can see 'orange' wherever you go!!

When I was young, the popular sun oil had a multiplication factor of about 4, to increase the effects of the sun. How times have changed.

I just tried to Google it, and noticed that something similar is still available, with added tanning enhancers.

I can almost see the day when the UK has more melanoma deaths than Australia, per head of population.

An article in the Daily Mail, quotes:
Quote:

Skin cancer is claiming more lives in Britain than in Australia, according to new figures released today.(undated article)
The new figures show that in the past five years there have been 8,100 British deaths from malignant melanoma, compared to 4,900 in Australia.

But statistically the report is incorrect of course.

Works out to about:

UK 0.01%

Aus 0.02%
