I was in Woolworths the other day and, all of a sudden, noticed a number of trolleys of shelves filled with fresh produce and a lady handing out carrier bags ! Now I'd heard about this but, having never seen it, thought it was an urban myth but it's basically fill a bag for $2. We filled three bags with bananas, mushrooms, apples, salad, brussel sprouts (yuck), carrots, onions, rhubarb, sping onions and so much more. I've filled my freezer and fridge ... all for $6

Happens almost every day, but I am rarely there, normally in ALDI's :)

Sunday this week, at about 5pm should be a good time though, before closing. Assuming they are closed on Monday.

I've caught on lucky a few times as well. I only seem to have seen it over the last 6 months or so. Don't know if I was there at the wrong times before that.

I wish our prices were like that - grapes are $15 kg, strawberries $5 and bananas $12 kg or more and going up daily !

Bananas are out of reach price wise at the moment, reminiscent of Cyclone Larry time, but they will come back down I hope. Till then... no bananas for me..

But, what grapes are you buying ? they are about $3-$4 a kg here.

I'll swap you my Grapes for your Strawberries (Strawberries are $20 kg here)

Where does Britain get its cheap Bananas from ?

all over the place, guess that's why they are so cheap. 1 in 4 bananas sold in UK are fairtrade (apparently), they come from Dominican Republic, Winward Islands, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Ghana.
