We are having our Easter Egg hunt tomorrow as I have to take Dad to the airport Saturday and he likes to get involved in the silliness. Not sure what we are doing for the rest of the weekend but we will all be marching in the local Anzac day parade on Monday. What is everyone else up to? Nicky |

Zac had an Anzac Parade at school today, and apparently 13 students fainted :omg: Not sure whether it was a combination of not eating breakfast, mass hysteria or coincidence, as it was not that hot at 8.30am. Anyway we are off to Coffs Harbour for 3 nights tomorrow so looking forward to chilling out and doing absolutely nothing. Mel |

OK, so Terry and I are heading off bogan style :giggle: We have a big Ford Falcon wagon, so have put the back seats down, have put the double mattress and doona from the spare bed in there, esky and a portble stove rammed in between the seats and we are off to Kalbarri. No camp site or anything booked just gonna park up and sleep when we're ready :) It's our wedding anniversary on Sunday. Alex will be adopted by Jess's family for Easter. |

Sounds fab Anne I hope that you really enjoy your break and get a chance to relax. I am a real camping wus (Ian's comment was that the only stars that I'll camp under are 4 or 5 lol). Have fun. Nicky |

I'm not allowed to play outside with the Easter Egg hunt as I got the clues too quickly so I've been banished into the house with the kids only allowed to speak to me if Ian thinks that they are really stuck lol. Nicky |

Chillin' over Easter and also looking forward to one of the local wineries having a vintage party - free food, free wine and free entertainment all day long! Cool. |

Sounds like a fantastic idea .. good for you !!!! I wish I was coming with you as I'm not so keen on my itinerary. Today we're out in the kayaks, tomorrow working on the house, Sunday is Nakita's birthday so church and an egg hunt followed by the afternoon of her on facebook (she's turning 13 so finally allowed to join up !!), Monday we have the real estate agent round so then need to make some decisions, Tuesday back to working on the house and Wednesday is Tallulahs birthday, a visit from the council and Paul has his HR driving test, if he passes he's off to the mines FIFO the week after. I am glad it's pretty busy as otherwise it would all be a bit scary. |

Absolutely diddly squat. Have a great anniversary Anne. We did the mattress in the back of the ute in the early 80s, went down to Albany for a few days. What a shite place that was. |

You've not missed anything .. I've just not posted. Both Paul and I lost our jobs, we're not entitled to centrelink so we've had no money for two months now. A hubby of a friend of a friend has been fantastic in helping Paul get a new job FIFO (he just needs to pass his HR test on Wednesday) so we'll be ok in the long term but short term there's no money to pay the bills so we either have to make some tough decisions or have them made for us. Fly In, Fly Out. Mining work, live at home but fly up to mines for a week/two weeks then home again for same sort of amount of time. |

He's looking at 2/1 so 2 weeks away then 1 week home. They are looked after but they do work 7 days straight and long days at that. I'm just hoping that our marriage survives as many don't  |

 Why aren't you entitled to Centrelink? 2 on one off is a great shift - our next door neighbour works about 4 on one off or something crazy like that - but of course two days are spent travelling back as he has to get from Perth airport to Bunbury, so really he only has about five days at home. Hope it all works out H. 2 & 1 is good compared to some people I know, but not like being home every night. It suits lots of people but I'd struggle with it. What would he be doing? |

The job he's been offered is as a serviceman so basically driving around in a truck refuelling stuff. It's the only real entry job you don't need qualifications for but he'd be working for Rio after the probation period so able to train to do whatever he wants to. Thing is, since being in Oz, Paul has been around a lot more as well as working close by and I rely on him a lot for practically everything and I'm really not going to like having to do everything on my own but I'll just have to suck it up. Bridie - we're not entitled to centrelink as Paul is self employed and I've submitted a workers comp claim. Hope everyone is having a great Easter Monday/Anzac day - we've just had our house valued and, whilst it has lost quite a bit, a sale would still cover the mortgage so that's good news. Now I'd better crack on clearing out the study ! |

Horrible news Heather. :( Been there so know the sort of things you're all going through. It's a time when all you want to do is fast forward your lives a few months. I'm afraid that doesn't happen so you just have to stick it out in any way you can. Of course it aint easy but there is always an end. As far as FIFO is concerned my company was that and the stories of marriage splits are very much exaggerated. They are talked about a lot because people love a good "scandal" but they are the rarity. It is a daunting thought that hubby won't be around when something crops up but you'll be surprised how well you will cope and generally there are not a lot of things that can't wait or be delayed. All you can do is have a little plan laid out if an emergency occurs. Knowing what you will do in a situation or where to get help is half the battle. |

I know I'll be ok, thanks all. It's just the fear of the unknown. If I could fast forward a year I really would right now ! It's probably about time I stepped up around here anyway. You'll know when he leaves as I'll start posting the 'what do I do ..... ' threads ! |

Fingers crossed he passes the HR licence and gets a job in the mines. Jason has a HR licence and has applied for heaps of mining jobs but never hears anything back, the only way in apparently is through someone you know, so Paul is very lucky. I have to say I would love if Jason worked FIFO but the ways things are with my new job, its more like me doing that lol. Anyway will keep everything crossed for Paul, and you with the workers comp  |
