I hope you have a fab party Michelle .... I think it's a great idea .. if I had friends and enough cash to cater I'd be doing the same thing. However we will all be dressing up as princesses and eating sandwiches with the crusts cut off, teacakes and scones (which reminds me .. anyone have the recipe for the lemonade scones ?) washed down with a bottle of pimms I found lurking in the back of the fridge.

Wonderful Winsome Wench

Feeling quite homesick watching some of the run up on the TV.

I'm off to a party tomorrow. We are dressing up, inc hats, having canapes, beef stew and dumplings, trifle, victoria sponge, all washed down with white bubbles, and a red and a blue cocktail or two. Bunting is already adorning the house I believe and the chauffeurs are booked.

Makes 8

Ingredients
300g (2 cups) self-raising flour, sifted
55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
125ml (1/2 cup) thick cream
125ml (1/2 cup) lemonade
40ml (2 tbs) milk

Method
Preheat the oven to 220°C. Lightly grease a baking tray.

Place the flour, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Add the cream and lemonade and mix to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly until combined. Press the dough with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm. Use a 6cm round cutter to cut out 8 scones, place on baking tray and brush the tops with some milk. Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned. Serve warm with your favourite jam.

Hope everyone had a great day!

I managed to get to the see the highlights ... what a beautiful dress!!!! I wasnt at all bothered/interested by the whole thing ... but i have to admit she looked so beautiful and the commentators had it spot on when they said they had reignited the interest in the monarchy and it had brought communities together.

cant fault em for that :champers:

ps, wish i could lip read what he said to her at the altar

harry said to william - wait til you see whats coming - when they were stood at the altar.
when kate joined him at the altar, william said to kate that she looked beautiful, and to her father said something on the lines of - it was supposed to be a quiet family wedding.
