Grrrr I was made redundant from my job at the D esal Plant in SA a couple of weeks ago. When I approached my previous employer, they said that they would very much like to take me back on board with them so I popped in for an informal interview, discussed the role and the money was agreed and left feeling pretty good as I didn't need to stress about finding another job. A week before I'm due to start my new job, I was still waiting for the official letter of offer to come through. So I emailed them on Wednesday to chase for the paperwork and to confirm that my start date was 4th April. The reply from the HR person was that the job was dependant upon them winning a major proposal, of which was not mentioned at the interview. Now I'm left in limbo with no job to go to and pretty well p##sed off!

oh thats terrible michelle ... what did the people who interveiwed you had to say about it? were they not aware it was dependant on them getting this contract? my boss was told he could replace 3 full time nurses who left over the last 12 months, but in the next email it was only after they had redeployed staff and after they had tried to fill the posts internally with unqualified staff

bosses really dont go the extra mile for valued employees any more do they :(

Oh bummer guys. Hope you both find something soon - and that includes you Bixie! I'm only working about 9 hours a week these days and it's a nightmare but there's nothing out there at all and having never had to work during school holidays (since having people who go to school anyway) I really don't want to start until Abs leaves or has her Ps, we live too far out from 'life'. Life's a bitch.
