I have the Woolworths Credit card, operated by HSBC. I find this card very handy for a few reasons, well 2 reasons mainly... Reason 1: No more queuing to pay for petrol. I swipe the card at the Pump itself, before filling up, fill up, then drive away. I always wonder how many people think I am driving away without paying  We had one of my daughters school friends in the car when I filled up once, and I jumped back in the car after filling up, and I said "OK, I am not going in there to pay, the queue is too big, we are off" ... You should have seen her face :ecstatic: We cracked up laughing, then explained... Reason 2: Woolworths/HSBC pay me to use the card  Every 4 months they send me a Woolworths Gift card, based on my spending on the card. The last one was $130. I think it worked out at $310 for the year. |

I use my Credit Card like you use your Debit card. At the end of every month the entire balance is paid off. Never use it for credit beyond the FREE days. Apparently 63% of Australian Credit Card users do the same.
However, when I was younger, I should never have been given a Credit Card  debt, debt, debt. |

In the UK I did the same .. had a credit card, spent on that, paid off in full every month. Unfortunately, over here, when I'm not working, if Paul has any time off it makes up the shortfall .. we did have three maxed and now just the two, both maxed ... so the next few weeks will prove interesting as Paul has just had a week off (still not caught up from the Christmas time he had off) and I still can't get a job. I'm now going back to stick my head in the sand ... can we have a smilie for that ????? |

We have 2, one that is supposed to be paid off every month and that earns us velocity points and has paid for two lots of holiday car hire saving us $600 a time!! The other is an interest free HSBC one that we are paying off a big balance. We are nearing the end of the 6 months interest free and have applied for the 6 month interest free Jet Star one and will continue paying it off :crossfingers: |

i just got an ANZ low interest of 1.8% for 18 months, so hopefully will get that paid in the next few months. I also have a HSBC, Westpac, Bankwest, Go and Commonwealth Bank credit cards, but have just paid them all off and/or transferred any remaining balance to the ANZ one, so now I just have the one card to concentrate on paying off and with my new full time job I am planning on clearing this before the end of June  |

We tried to get an interest free balance transfer one but got refused  then went for the low interest ones but also got turned down so now have a high interest one cos that's all we could get. Funny isn't it .. we were both working, earning good wages, just wanted to clear a previous debt and no one would help us  |
