$12 a kg for Steak !! For me that is a lot of money for Steak, as normally we can get a budget rump for about $5 or $6 kg, or about $10 kg for a good quality one.

But today, I saw one for $11.99 kg, and it was a real special...

So I bought it. Hopefully we taste it tonight.

I can't compare the price at Woolworths as they don't sell this grade of Steak.

What is special about it ? It is a Wagyu Rump Steak. I hope it lives up to its reputation :crossfingers:

Wagyu Beef is Highly Marbled however this only enhances the amazing flavour and tenderness of this top quality meat. Also known as Kobi Beef.

Wagyu beef is increasingly being seen in restaurants and gourmet grocers around Australia and is considered a luxury item. It's price tag of between $100 to $250 per kilogram for the best cuts, ensures the beef will be more of a special occasion meal for many rather that an every day occurrence.

It WAS

Better than the last restaurant steak we had

However, I had to dash out half way through eating, so it wasn't the nice relaxed enjoyable meal I had planned.

Now watching the Dog eating Wagyu Rump Steak :S

Damned dog also gets a cooked breakfast almost every morning..........
