The new myschool website is now active again and also now shows financial details, including the average financial contributions per student, from both Governments and Parents. Just checked my area, for the 4 different types of schools; State, Private Catholic, Private other Faith and Private. The Government contributions for each, based on average per student in 2009, were: $9,293.00 Victoria Point State High School, Victoria Point, QLD - State $8,146.00 Carmel College, Thornlands, QLD - Private Catholic, $6,752.00 Faith Lutheran College - Redlands, Victoria Point, QLD - Private other Faith $5,630.00 Ormiston College, Ormiston, QLD - Private The Contributions from Parents and other private sources were: $ 646.00 Victoria Point State High School, Victoria Point, QLD State $3,439.00 Carmel College, Thornlands, QLD Private Catholic $4,672.00 Faith Lutheran College - Redlands, Victoria Point, QLD Private Faith $9,347.00 Ormiston College, Ormiston, QLD Private |

Well I dont think the Carmel College info is accurate, because we pay over $5000 in fees for Holly to go there, she is in Year 12. Ormiston College for Zac is slightly out too, his fees total almost $11000 a year. |

I just heard that Peter Garrett (famous for a few mess ups) is in charge of this.... :whistle: The Ormiston college average figure may be about right though. Your $11,000 is only slightly higher ($1,500 being 'slightly' ;) ) and with sibling discounts, cheaper junior school fees and scholarships etc., the average could well be about the $9,347 quoted. |
