My darling youngest daughter, who apparently knows everything, has deleted all of the songs from my eldests daughters itunes library (you can imagine the scene in our house early this morning :hide: ) I have tried, unsucessfully, to restore the files so now think my only option is to import the songs from the ipod into the itunes library but can't seem to find a way to do this .. nothing I try works. Does anyone (or anyone's kids ???) know how to do this so that it will save Nakita's life ????????? |

Holy crap! That's a disaster! I remember Terry doing the same thing to Alex's and we never did work out how to get them back. Sorry  Will the ipod not sync with the library? I though syncing worked both ways :dunno: |

Ok, I've texted Alex. He said you can do it but need a special programme. He's trying to find out what that programme is. So I've asked Alex, who's asked Jess to ask her brother (he's an IT whizz) who is now going to ask someone at work. |

Evidently you can download a programme called idump. After that you plug in your ipod to the pc and it will ask what you want to do. |

I guess it all sounded a bit easy !! I finally found and downloaded idump, then plugged in ipod. Idump can't find ipod (and help screen leads to an error msg !) but itunes can. Argh !!!!!!!! |

I don't suppose this helps ? It sounds bit too easy though. And I will say that I have never used itunes, nor do understand how it works. Undelete From Menu 1 Open iTunes on your computer. 2 Let the full music library load. 3 Click on "Edit" in the top menu bar. 4 Click on "Undo Delete..." where the ellipsis represents your playlist name. This should restore the deleted playlist, even if it was not the last file you deleted. Sounded nice and simple but 'undo delete' wasn't open an option ! In fact 'undo' wasn't even an option. Maybe you had to do this before shutting down the pc  |

If you contact Itunes, they will usually let you download any songs purchased from them again, but only once. |

The files were in the recycle bin .. I tried to restore them but it said there were duplicate files with the same name and did I want to overwrite, I clicked yes and then it said haha you can't do that. Ended up changing the name of the ones we had so I could restore but still nothing in itunes library. Grrrrrr. However, we were able to put the itunes songs purchased back into the library from the ipod so that is at least a start ! |
