Doubtful, according to news reports this morning.

I'll take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Christmas, just in case you get off the ground.

it's the side roads that are bad, most of the main roads are apparently ok - not been out driving myself just what I've been told.
just got this off the Heathrow site for you, but if you have left then you will know :)

"Heathrow Airport will not be accepting arrivals on Sunday, and will only manage a handful of departures as our airfield team continues to deal with the impacts of yesterday's bad weather and prepares the airport for a full re-opening on Monday.

We are extremely sorry for the disruption this will cause to passengers and airlines and we stress that passengers must check with their airlines before travelling to the airport. We will provide regular updates.

We have 200 aircraft parking stands and have a team of several hundred people working to treat these airside areas and to keep passengers in the terminal as warm and as comfortable as possible while we do everything we can to get Heathrow moving.

We are removing 30 tonnes of snow from each stand, but the temperature remains firmly below zero and Heathrow's capacity is limited to the extent that all parking stands are occupied by aircraft, making the job of clearing and treating them more difficult.

Safety is our first priority and we hope this course of action will allow us to offer a fuller service to passengers and airlines using Heathrow tomorrow"

I have a friend who was flying to Heathrow yesterday (arrive today) then flying onto Cork. She has her 3 year old son with her so I'm hoping they have managed to complete their flight but not feeling too optimistic about it. To make matters worse, the day before they left they found out that at their final destination (her hubby's family) there has been a tragic loss of a child family member :( As Kelly said "looks like we're about to have a nightmare journey."

I forgot I posted this. I'm now back from my months hoilday in the UK. Yes I was delayed by 24 hours at Hong Kong and Cathay Pacific put me up in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Kowloon. I managed to get on standby flight the next day and continued my holiday. It was a mistake going back to the UK. The place has got 10 times worse and I fell out with my Mum. It was a nightmare. I managed to patch things up with my Mum 2 days before I left to return to Australia but I don't think our relationship will ever be the same again. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.

That is very sad. :(

Maybe now there is distance between you again the relationship will grow over time though.

Never say never.........just later.
