We need new tyres for the Territory. Have needed them for a while now but been putting it off, but Jason got pulled over yesterday afternoon and given a warning to replace them  Luckily he did not get points or a fine! Have been getting quotes this morning, and its not cheap, cheapest I can find is $355 per tyre :scared: apparently Ford Territories need a special size tyre, and there is not a great choice. The big tv has been playing up for a while, just turns itself off for no reason mid programme, today turned itself off and wont turn back on again. Normally we unplug it, leave it for a while and it works fine again for a few days, but this time it just wont work, power is on, but no picture  Its a Hitachi 50 in plasma, just under 2 years old  It was not cheap, so I expected it to last a little bit longer than this. I am going to get quotes to see if it can be repaired but I suspect it wont be worth it and we will need a new TV. Bloody hell, why does all this stuff happen together. Fingers crossed nothing else breaks down for a while :crossfingers: |

Our TV does that too Mel, I'm just waiting for it to decide not to come back on. As for the tyres thats just a bloody rip off, typical of ford to do something so stupid! Our week could turn out to be a doozy too, I'm waiting for the company we bought our pool from to call about coming to see what they are going to do about the great big crack thats opened up in it, the pool is under warranty so it should be covered but pool comanies are notorious for not giving a damn about customer service, then on sunday the aircon packed in on my car, i can't jutsify the monstrous amount of moey it will cost to fix on a car thats worth virtually nothing, but driving with no aircon is awful. Lets hope the year gets cheaper for us all |

Mel.... do you have accidental damage cover on your contents insurance? if so then decide to relocate it.... and drop it, get a nice new one and it will only cost you the excess on your policy! Of course that would be illegal and I would never seriously suggest you did it  |

Hmmm, thats a thought Lynn, not sure what sort of contents insurance we have, will have to phone the insurance company to ask. We have $500 excess but thats still cheaper than a replacement tv

Well this week is getting more expensive by the day. This morning over $1000 for the tyres. Then I went to see a consultant and had to pay $150, but got $69 back from medicare. This afternoon I had to go to Mount Gravatt. Drove there without any problems, came back to car after I had been for my appointment and it would not start. Called the RACQ, who were there within 30 mins  and told battery was completely dead, new battery recommended rather than charging it up, as would die again as soon as I parked somewhere else, and no guarantee it would get me home, so opted for new battery - $176. TV repair guy coming tomorrow to look at the tv, $110 just to take a look at it  Really hoping nothing else happens this week thats going to cost $$$$$$ |

I can never beat tyre prices from Kmart! I had to get two for the camper this week. We need a new washer as the spin cycle isn't working and a new dishwasher cos it doesn't stay up when you open the door  And I hate my fridge....But luckily they can all wait till the school fees and uniforms/ books etc are paid for! |

The week is getting worse!!!! Phone call this morning from consultants secretary, could I please pay $400 for my minor procedure before next Wednesday. I said my private health insurance would be covering it, as had already checked with them and they said hospital would be covered. This is the surgeons fee I have to pay and I can send it into the insurance company after the op, not before, because if they do anything extra the amount will go up :scared: Now to wait and see what bills I will get from the anaesthetist and pathology  I know I could have gone on waiting list for public hospital, but was told it could be up to two years and I dont want to wait that long, and using my private healthy insurance means I can have it done next week, but honestly you think you pay enough to the Health Fund and then get all these extras to pay and be lucky if you can claim anything back  I now to need to work so many extra shifts, there is not enough days in the month to fit them all in :she: |

Paul has problems with his eyes and we don't know yet if he'll need an op but I had to explain very carefully to him that, whilst we have a private fund, if he needs an op he's to go medicare until we know the waiting list time and what that means for his sight. He doesn't understand why, when we pay so much a month, we don't get it all for free !! |

This week is worse already :she: Bill in mail today for anaesthetist for $360, ok I will get $171 back from medicare and from HCF. TV repair people phoned, they took the tv away last week as were unable to fix it here - total price for repair $1500 :omg: That is just ridiculous as could get a new tv for that. That tv Hitatchi 50in plasma, two years old, is the biggest waste of money we have ever spent on anything. I am so not impressed and mad that I never took out the extended warranty :she: They offered to dispose of the tv when I refused to pay that amount, but I said I wanted it back, so now have lovely looking tv that does not work  I am so over being broke :( We are not extravagant or wasteful but just cannot seem to get ahead these days  Edited by Melibeam, Jan 12 2010, 05:02:06 PM.

Yes got rate notice today too - $723.74 for three months, water rates included on this but our water consumption is pretty cheap - $103.40, so dont mind that too much as its expected and we budget for that  It just never ends  Edited by Melibeam, Jan 12 2010, 06:25:13 PM.

Anyway its already had a bid up to $25 and has 12 people watching it  I dont care about making any money, I just want it taken away !!!! |

It looked like we would be having an expensive week. Got up the other morning to find our en suite toilet was leaking from the back - knew Kevan could fix it but didn't know if we'd need a new cistern. The dishwasher packed up so today he's had it outside and completely taken it apart, found the problem!!!! fixed it - no parts needed and it's now working again and a naughty mouse has been wandering around after dark and eaten through the Router cable for the computers and the sensor cable for the Wii and the Austar Me box was playing up. He's rewired the router, Austar came and gave us a new box and I found a new sensor for $10 so all in all, I am very happy. I did not want to spend out $500 on a new dishwasher! However, I washed up last night and refuse to do it again for a few years  |
