For the second morning we've woken up to the stench of smoke, the thick fog in the air and an orange sun trying to peek through the mirk. There's a big fire down south about 140K out of Perth but it's really affecting the air this far up too. I'm so sneezy and asthma y. How is it Bunbury Bridie?

We've had it here the last few days although yesterday wasn't as bad as Monday. Obviously depends on which way the wind is blowing.

There is a huge fire just north of Harvey (harvey is about 15 mins from us), some numpty marron fisher lit a fire and left it :ooer:

Luckily all the smoke has gone your way!! :P

Apparently it's in state forest now so no homes or people at risk, still not good for the local wildlife though. Some people are just braindead

I just can't understand why someone would consider it safe to have a fire in this weather. My friend who lives beside where the fire was last week was telling me thather neighbour decided to have a burn off last week the day after the big fire.... WTF!! he ended up with 5 fire trucks in his yard and will have a hefty fine too. The guy who lives in the block behind us has a fire most nights in an empty oil drum just over our fence.

BTW it wasn't just south, we had it too.

A neighbour (sort of) had a burn off the other weekend but it was very planned, council asked, all neighbours in the general vicinity informed of date and time, rural brigade on site, very carefully done by all. Why would you not do it, the consequences are just too terrifying to contemplate.
