Someone pinched my front number plate whilst we were sleeping last night. A cunning plan as Matts car is on the nature strip and mine is face down a steep driveway, so not only were they well hidden, but I think they were hoping Matts car would be used first and we wouldn't notice. However I had to go do a wedding at 7am so they were sprung quite early. Feckers. I now have to pay out $150 and spend the morning at Vic rds with Flynn on monday, otherwise I'll get fined :she:

No and no Mel

MP, they steal only one plate in the hope you don't notice, then they put the plate over their own, drive into a servo fill up then reverse out........ all for a tank of fuel. My car got fingerprinted but nothing was there.

... gits. Mind you, petrol is expensive
They don't even need to do that. Know someone who works at a servo and she says that they rarely follow up people who drive off.

Well Bordy, you knew better than the nice policeman I saw at the station on Saturday am.
It was $30 after an hour and a half at Vic rds. BUT I now have to call my insurance, city Link and the RACV to let them know the new rego.....what a ball ache for a tank of fuel! :she:

I am looking to find where I can buy super strong screws to hold the plate on, either that or I'm using no more nails

NUMBER PLATE THEFT IS ON THE INCREASE
When your number plates are stolen you must:
Report the theft to the police
Visit the registration branch
Notify your insurance company
Notify your auto club
Notify your toll operator

They just ripped the plate off. The rear one has 4 big chunky screws but the front on only had 2 skinny ones. So I have ordered some one way thick screws and they'll be 4 put in. I have also ordered some essendon plate covers which snap over the top so it makes the screws harder to get too....and essential item obviously

Cheeke little bastards........ I wouldn't bother with super strong screws just make the edges of it razor sharp so they leave a finger behind next time (easier for gettng prints off!), or anything sharp on it so they'll cut themselves, they won't try again after that.
