I was talking to my daughter on the webcam yesterday and because the boys were watching a movie I plugged some headphones into the pc. Since then I've not been able to get any sound coming out from any youtube stuff or any other video link. If I'm playing a game on the pc then that has sound. What's gone wrong????????????? I can't listen to my music videos any more :( |

Can you still get sound via the headphones ? It does sound a bit odd, that you can get sound from some things but not others. |

have you turned the volume up on the youtube stream ? what version of operating system are you using & what sound card ? Do you use external speakers for things other than webcam ? You tube volume will not adjust your soundcard volume but adjusting webcam volume software may well. |

Right before you get too carried, away I only understood half of what you said :whoosh: Techno stuff is beyond me. But I can tell you that yes I do have volume turned up on all speakers, you tube, pc volume any volume thing I can come across. In fact we got rather deafened by our granddaughter when she came on the webcam yesterday  The googling thing was intersting Eric, thanks, and I'm going to get Terry on to it later. Looks like it's something to do with flash plugins or something silly. I was so glad to see I wasn't the only one who could see something on youtube then as soon as I'd posted it to a third party I lost sound. |

I won't offer too much help myself, at least not till I work out why I have lost sound on my system  My Hard Drive died, so it went back under warranty, I re installed everything and that was OK, but then the Video card died, so it went back again under warranty, but now the sound drivers refuse to load saying I have no sound card, which is on-board the motherboard. I'll wait till I get my own monitor back, (that went back under warranty last week), then I might send my computer back again !! |
