Had to drive into the Hospital in Brisbane today, and be there at 9:30am

It has been a while since driving in peak times, and although my wife drives everyday to the city, I read so much about how bad traffic is in Brisbane, I was a tad worried.

Left at 7:47, dropped my daughter at school, then on the road to the City. There was a multi car accident on the way and a detour caused a problem, so I needed to turn on the Sat Nav.. got lost once, but found a way back on track...

Royal Brisbane Hospital by 9:00am. 1 hr 13 minutes for the 40 km trip in peak hour.
whereis.com.au quotes Distance: 38.2km Time: 49min (approx)

Not bad in the end

However, the really good bit was having arranged a private appointment for Thursday 2nd July, but then asked the doctor to try to get a Public Hospital appointment... and she did 1 week earlier than private

next... Sitting in the waiting room at 9:34, and in came the nurse who apologised for the delay (4 minutes late?)....

Then the specialists that turned up was the Queensland state head of the department, his department !

Confident, knowledgeable, very detailed explanations of everything being done... took his time, no rush.

Saved $400 going public, and with much better service.....

 Thumbs up to the QLD Health service.

But $10 for the parking charge !

Sounds like you got great service Erick

I am a bit disappointed with your map, it does not have Ormiston on it  Ormiston is a suburb between Wellington Point and Cleveland  but obviously not important enough to be on a map

Blame whereis.com.au for that

But here is a close up link for people to look http://www.whereis.com/?id=84A1F8D8058BD2

Hope it works

You could have parked at my house if I had known you were here, we live pretty close to Ormiston College

Let me know if you are here again and I will give you my address. If the school carpark is full, is there not heaps of parking on the roads nearby, or were they all full up?

Car park chocker, road packed both sides, childcare place at the end was full. I got up on the nature strip at the beginning of College Court or something (fancy entrance to an estate). Thank god for the CR-V or I don't know where we'd have ended up - Capalaba probably

Thanks for the offer. If we're up there again, I'll shout beforehand  First time we've been there, normally at Brissie Entertainment Centre. This Friday and Saturday she's at the Gold Coast Convention Centre so there'll be no problem with the parking there!

Actually I noticed on Sunday that the Softball Centre (thats opposite the childcare place) had something on and there were of cars all parked along the grass verge. I guess with that and the stuff going on at Ormiston College, there would have been a lot of visitors around. Its ok when you know the area and you know where to go, but hard for anyone thats not familiar with the surrounding roads
