Eldest has been complaining of a stomach ache all weekend. She hasn't moved from the sofa and isn't eating. She says it's worse if she moves but if she lies still it subsides a bit. She's also got a bit of a raised temperature. Normally I wouldn't worry too much but tomorrow Paul is working all day, I am training from 9am to 2.30pm then the school run followed by youngest having an interview at another school. I should be back in 4.30pm ish and then am being picked up at 5.30 to go to a meeting in Perth, ie, if T needs taking to docs/ ED, it needs to be tonight. Is it worth it or leave it and wait and see ? |

call your local out of hours gp clinic and find out when they close, if it's too late to take her there ask to speak to a doc and get their advice. I had to do this last night as Ind had earache and was screaming the place down. Their advice was to take him to ED, which I did. Turned out to be nothing but they were great and while I tried to apologise for being there for nothing they told me never to try to justify doing the right thing by my kids and if you are at all worried taking them in is always the best option. |

I let Paul make the call as I'm not the best in these circumstances. He got her drinking full fat coke so that's a start. This morning she's still the same, not too bad if she lies still but as soon as she moves she's in a lot of pain. She's off school and when Paul gets home if she's still the same he'll take her to the docs. Something in my mind is telling me that I had something similar but I can't remember what it was. |

It's a bug going round. I've got it and two other people at work have had it. It is agonising so full sympathy to your daughter. If she can eat and drink then let her do it, it doesn't really make much difference to the pain. I was doubled up crying for about 8 hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning, then it faded slightly so I could move about, then it came back and a hot water bottle helped. Pain killers haven't done anything. Today I've just had major cramps every hour or so but not really felt it for the last couple of hours so hopefully it's on it's way out. The other two at work who've had it said it lasted about 48 hours. Hope she feels better soon. |
