Now I can't moan about all men, I've not lived with them but from reading between the lines (and sometimes the lines themselves) I don't think Kevan is alone here. I'm ill. It's not terminal, it's just a cold/cough/shitty thing that's left me feeling as weak as a kitten and not nearly as cute. Yesterday was my day off and couldn't go to work today, apart from not having the strength, I can't go into an area that cooks and serves food. I know Kevan's been working all day and is knackered but I had to ask him yesterday to cook dinner - more bloody questions than Anne Robinson asks in a month. This evening he sat down and put his feet up with a beer at food prep time. I started dinner, coughing and spluttering. He got up and asked if I wanted him to take over. Yes thank you darling. Another month of questions. Serves up dinner and I notice every single sodding pan and fork and bowl has been used - WHY! Dinner finished, I asked Abs to empty the dishwasher from earlier and muttered about how if I cooked, I had to empty and refill the dishwasher but if someone else cooked I still had to man the dishwasher. He starts making his sandwiches for the morning whilst I cough and sneeze over the dishwasher. I find a small tupperware pot with lid on full of something. Ask what it is but get no answer - look around and find he's gone to bed! No good night, no kiss my arse, no nothing. I go in and ask him whats in the pot. Oh, grease left over from the chicken he says. So you want to keep it? says I. Not really he says. So why the fook is it in a clean pot with the lid on????????? I don't want to be ill. I'm not enjoying it. I feel like shit. Why is it such a mammoth issue just for able, fit people to help out? Why do I end up wondering why the hell I didn't just do it all? WHY WHY WHY WHY OK thanks for that. |

Mmmmm that sounds so familiar for all women in a relationship.....it totally sucks and makes you feel even worse as no matter how strong a woman you are you just want someone to once in a while take over and let you recuperate as you would them. Hope you get better soon Pen :flowers: |

Hope you are feeling better MP. :flowers: About the questioning thing - Terry drives me mental whenever we go somewhere new usually with Alex's soccer team or something to do with Alex's school. Once we're there all I get is "where are we supposed to go?" "where's the way in?" "whose in charge?" "what time is this thing supposed to finish?" WELL HOW THE FOOK DO I KNOW! I'VE NOT BEEN HERE BEFORE EITHER! |

Sorry you're not well MP. I hate to sound smug but I'm really lucky! When I'm sick Matt just does what needs to be done. Ok he trashes the kitchen, but does that anyway, but he cleans it up, baths Flynnn gets him to bed. The only problem that I have if that if I'm sick I still have to do the school run and look after Flynn...and if hes sick he can lounge in bed! But hey ho, thats life  |

MP hope you feel better soon :flowers: If I'm sick John will take carers leave and I'll stay in bed, he'll do everything and do it better than I can, I do have to be pretty sick for that to happen but if he thinks it would help for him to stay home he'll do it  He's usually great round the house too but has changed recently, he used to come home and help out with tea or fill the dishwasher while I put the kids to bed or vice versa. Now he comes in and moans about the fact I've done very little and does nothing, well not nothing he plays with the kids but doesn't do anything to help me. When I asked him why he just said he is fed up doing it and he works all day while I'm out having fun so I should do it. Fair point maybe but it peesses me off that it coincides with me starting work, I pointed out that I spend quite a lot of time doing work related things through the day but he told me in no uncertain terms that I can't put that ahead of the housework because it's more fun. He's just called now to say that the powers out at work so he's coming home, the house is a tip, I've spent the morning as follows.... getting the kids to school, doing the school run, spent an hour outside playing with O on the trampoline, cleaned my guns for tonights job, replenished my paints for tonight, cut some stencils for mondays job (still hours more to do on that), played dancing with O for another half hour and did the usual Mummy things of feeding her, helping her, kissing things better, scaring her hiccups away and making sure she didn't drink my vat of metho..... but yes the brekkie dished are still on the table. So I'm off to brace myself for his wrath when he comes in. I know I'm really crap at housey things, but I have been for the last 15 years and it's not any worse now so why the sudden change??? Male Menopause??? On another side of this he had to do an HR test for a training course he's doing and got me to try it too, boy was that interesting, it was spot on for both of us and has actually made me realise that some of the things that I get wound up about in him are just the way his brain is programmed. But it's quite sad to know that I'll never be able to change them. |

Last time I was really sick, I ended up in hospital after visiting the doctors and was sent straight to hospital. I called Jason when I got there after finding out I was going to be admitted and first thing he asks is "whats for dinner", I am not joking  |

I really shouldn't moan about him, he brilliant in so many different ways and saves us stacks of money being able to turn his hand to anything building/plumbing/electrical etc. He's even a pretty good cook but when I'm ill it's like I have the worse PMT so he wouldn't be able to do anything right. Thanks for the good wishes. Still feel bloody awful though, nasty bug but at least I'm keeping everyone amused with my lack of voice  |

Well Friday is my day off work so I've been out at had lunch with some girlie friends. Done a little bit of shopping. Been sorting my costume for tomorrow night's fancy dress party. Chatted to gemma on the webcam While I was chatting Terry cooked a lovely satay chicken, brought it to me at the pc desk, took my empty plate away cos I was still chatting, and had just about fisnished washing and dryng up the dishes by the time I finished chatting. Doesn't stop him asking stupid fooking questions though  |

I think I'm nearly alive again. Turned out to be pharengitis (sp) which kindly then turned into flu. My tissue consumption has dropped significantly today but still managed to sleep five hours between having to do school runs. Trying to stay awake now to collect Heather from work at 9:30. Kevan up at 4am so lasts until 8:30 at the latest before collapsing into bed. Womanly duties? if sleep is my duty then I've done that. Not eaten for days, everyone else seems to be surviving so they must be doing something right. Kevan asked if sex was out of the question, I think I did a five minute continous sneeze, he gave up waiting for an answer  |
