Can anyone explain why daylight savings causes any of the following..... children falling asleep in class, increased workplace errors, increased traffic accidents, families being unable to eat until 9pm, not getting up until 8am as well as the usual faded curtains, children not going to bed and animals not having a clue whats going on?????? I have heard all of the above from blokes at footy this morning, who then went on to discuss the merits of not allowing extended trading hours. Strangely though none of them mentioned the effect it would have on local markets which are allowed to trade on sundays or the jobs which would be created if shops opened for longer, or that little thing called convenience. I don't mind people voting against daylight savings but I'd have prefered them to have a real reason for it, not something made up (as surely they couldn't be thick enough to believe any of the above???) |

Exactly!! Seemingly normal people just come out with the utmost crap about it. I've actually come to think that some people don't actually change their clocks, they leave them the same just change the time they have to do everything by an hour...... Then there was the lady who served me in target a few months back who actually believed that there were 25 hours in every day during summer |

Even our beloved Premier here in Queensland has come out with the above nonsense as reason for not having a referendum. Her predecessor actually stated that more children would get melanomas if we had Daylight Savings :lmao: I actually couldn't give a rats arse about having it or not, but agree, reasoned argument would be good. |

The total reluctance of people not wishing to bring WA into the 21st century really gets on my tits. This state is living in the dark ages sometimes. Now they are again arguing about extending trading hours. Not moving with the times will be the death of Perth I fear :( |

a very good friend of mine was whinging about the kids not being able to sleep, told her to get black out curtains but, apparently, if the kids 'know' it's light outside then they won't sleep  another said that she used to the time to take the kids to the beach for some family time and it tired them out, they went to bed slightly later but slept better !!! Tbh, am over WA at the mo, so flipping backward in all of its thinking |
