Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out any forethcoming events in my area. I've done the usual trawl of the internet and know about all the shire organised events, but things like school fetes and fairs and things organised by non council organisations.

I've spend what feels like weeks contacting people about my airbrush tattooing, but now I'm struggling with ideas on who to contact and how to find out about up and coming things. In the past school fetes ahve been brilliant, but short of contacting EVERY p&c in the metro area I'm kind of stumped. When I did this before I was happy for things to happen slowly and got most of my bookings via word of mouth, but this time I really need to get my n ame out there and contact the correct people, many organisations book their entertainment up to 12 months in advance so I need to get in quick.

So........ ANY IDEAS???????

If you want to see what sort of events I'm on about see here http://www.funairbrushtattoos.com.au/services.html

I'm not sure beyond making flyers for the local schools and comittees. It is difficult but getting in the first time is usually the hardest once it works once they will call you back time and time again.

I'll try to remember to ask our registrar if I can put something on the education portal that sends emails out to all the schools in WA.

Do you have an early child care centre in your area? I was in mine yesterday and there were posters up for the local school fetes and markets.

I just got a call from one of the local Football Clubs, booking me for a couple of their home games :ecstatic:

Perth Zoo have also said they will be in touch about booking me for some of their events and I'm just waiting for the dates to come through for a couple of shire organised events, all these are events where I charge out by the hour too. Much as I hate cold calling, one good result puts a big smile on my face.

From personal experience in organising the school fete here the teachers don't tend to pass things onto the P&C unless it is addressed to them and put aside for the meeting. Flyers in my opinion is the way to go unless you word your mass email to the Prinicipals asking them to pass the email directly onto the P&C ;)

Good luck Lynn

PS can you come over here on the 22nd August ;)

Yes i did thank you sweetie (once I noticed it was there!). Just been too blooming busy to act on it. I recon the way to go with the schools will be to contact the P&C. I know from our last meeting that the principal gets emails which she passes on to the P&C having had a good old gander at them first to see if they would be of any interest to the rest of the school. But now that you've given me the "formula" I'm on the right road.

Thanks heaps
Lynn

Thanks Anne. Hopefully my laptop will be fixed today (if the man from Delhi) ever turns up. Then I can pick up my emails!! Thanks for thinking of me.

I did a 3 hour gig at one of the local footy clubs on monday for their foundation day game. It was brilliant, the club were paying me so the tatts were free to the supporters, we only offered 2 types of tatt, one was the club logo and the other the club name, but I offered them in face paints as well as body paints which was a new one on me. We had a production line going so i only had to spray, the boys were my line managers and after care boys, I recon we did around 200 tatts in 3 hours which is really great. It was lots of fun and great to see all the kids covered in their club colours. I hope the club thought so too.

Now I just need to convince all the other sports teams in WA that this was a great idea!
