Alex was up at 6am this morning all nervous for his driving test. His instructor picked him up at 6.45 for an hour's lesson before his test at 8 this morning. Alex has just rung to say his examiner didn't turn up!!!!!! :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum:

So we've just paid for a two hour driving lesson and now will have to pay for that all over again.

I am well peessed off and really feel for Alex who was all psyched up.

Not the instructor. He collected Alex at 6.45. It was the bloody examiner at the testing centre that didn't turn up. No phone call from the centre, nothing. I'll be getting a receipt from the driving school and will be putting in a bill to the testing centre. At $100 per shot on testing day I can't afford not to.

My first reaction was 'but something really serious could have happened to prevent him turning up'. My second was that someone else should have let you know. Think positive, Alex has had a driving lesson whilst stressed and presumably still did really well. You'll get your money back or on credit for the examination as it wasn't your fault. Next time, Alex won't be quite so worried about it and should pass with flying colours.

Doesn't stop you being mad as hell over the way Alex was treated though.

Thats disgusting, I bet the instructor was annoyed too, you should get him to complain as if its like here, the driving instructors and examiners all know each other. After Shane failed his first two tests in our own car, he did the third test after being out with the instructor for an hour and then did the test in the instructors car with the instructor sitting in the back, and he passed

Shane said the instructor and examiner were obviously good friends from the way they talked to each other

Apparently the examiner rang in sick at 7.30 but no-one passed this on. When Alex registered that he was there he was passed a note (on DPI headed paper) which states

"We would like to apologize for causing inconvenience to you this morning.

The assessor who was rostered to conduct your practical driving assessment is not in attendance today.

Please telephone the call centre to re-schedule your driving assessment."

I should say it was an inconvenience. When I rang to book another test the lady was very blase about it and very kindly, ha ha, said that they would forego the $71.80 re-testing fee like she was doing me a favour  Well I should bloody think so. It was only when I mentioned the fact that we'd had to pay for a 2 hour lesson and would have to do so again next tiime that she said I could put in an application for a claim. I'd need to provide receipt of paid lesson, abn number, instructor's name, driving school name, test date and time and examiner's name. Well seeing as the examiner didn't turn up neither Alex or his instructor knew who it was and the lady on the phone said she wasn't at liberty to reveal his identity.

Alex has his test re-booked but it's slap bang in the middle of the day and Alex has had to get his school teacher to put his maths exam forward an hour so that he's finished in time.

Whilst I fully understand that people do become sick, it is just the attitude of the test centre that stinks.

FAR OUT!!!!! They've just done it to him again. All booked up for a double lesson and the instructor to collect Alex from school, and ho hum there is no examiner to take his test today. And I've still not had any money back from the last time. At this rate he'll be retired before he ever gets his licence.

Poor Alex, he must be gutted. Time to call them up and shout at someone, I would guess that once they realise it's happened to the same person twice they'll fix it quick.

As for the Queens Birthday.... due to us living in WA time it's not her birthday here till sept 28th  bloody good job we voted out daylight savings or the poor old dear would have had to wait till December to get her birthday cake. But we were off last monday for foundation day.

Thats really bad, why did you have to pay for the second test, surely he should have had a credit from the previous one. I would refuse to pay  Phone them up and speak to a manager, and let them know how rude and unprofessional this is and that you are most unhappy, make sure you get the names of everyone you speak to and then write a letter to the idiots demanding an explanation and apology :she:
