This year my Body Shop business has done really well overall, even though Christmas has been slow, my sales have ended up being practically the same as last year and the rest of the year was much higher. I have been banking all of my bonuses and just spending my party profits.

Every year our main conference is a weekend in Melbourne and I vowed to go next year so when Tiger announced fares at $89.95 I jumped at them and have booked for all of us to go for a week !!!

I can't wait, I am so excited :dance2:

Ok, so I'll have to go to conference for a couple of days and nights but the rest of the time I'm off pounding the pavements. I don't have accommodation as yet (could be a cardboard box!) but have plenty of time to work on that as we leave 29th July. We will be staying around the Southbank as the conference is at the Langham and won't be hiring a car - so I am after suggestions of things to do for us all (girls will be 11 and 13). Obviously shops are a must (where's best ?) and, fingers crossed, a meet up with Hevs (?? no idea how far away you are ???) but other than that I am open to suggestions !

Well done, good to hear that sales are good. Maybe when these $1,000 FTB cheques get issued next week, you may get a last minute Christmas rush ?

Don't forget the tax deduction for the airfares etc :)

I'm not paying tax on it yet, apparently it's a hobby !!

Don't think it'll be too much longer though and then I'd better keep proper books

Have a look on wotif.com.au about a week before you travel, you should get some good hotel bargains.

I know you will have a fab time, just remember to pack your winter woolies!!!

Thats fantastic im sure you will have a great time. Try and get a visit to Philip Island if you can, the kids will love it and if you like the grand prix then you can go go-karting on the mini gp track.

what's on Philip Island ?

I usually do wotif but have been advised against leaving it that late to book a hotel. Apparently there are a fair few BS guys who show up so the hotels are usually fully booked. Shame though as wotif can be near enough half price.

I'm tipping they'd still be plenty...its a big place and you can always hop on a tram if its not next door. We saved heaps in NZ doing that the night before...when we had decided where we were headed.

Phillip island is on e of our faves. It has the penguins, a very old working farm (sounds boring but its quite good) Theres a bit to do down there but without a car you'd be a bit stuffed and it would be cold.

I want to take you up to the dandenongs to show you greenery. My mate from WA says its a "balm to her eyes"

this has come around fast, managed to book an apartment in the end as every is booked fast as it's the Melbourne film festival, BS conference and some other massive conference in August

Have checked out the website Hevs and there is just so much I want to do, a week just isn't going to be long enough ... who knows I may want to stay forever

If you went to Melbourne what two things would be on your 'must do' list ? Baring in mind this is mid winter without a car.

The MCG would be top of my list, along with coffee with Hevs.

Ooooo what would I do.....

www.thatsmelbourne.com.au

The free trams are a great way to stary, they are maroon and you just hop on and off.
Melbourne goal is good as are the markets and aquarium and a walk along Sothbank and into Crown is nice if its raining (I wish!) The MCG is goo, but don't know if you have to "book" it or weather you can just walk through. Theres a really old (for Aus) shopping mall right in the centre of the city its actually beautiful to walk through. Theres also St Kilda and the very hmmm charecteristic Luna park...I'm thinking of the kids v's adults thing here...

www.scienceworks.com.au is a GREAT day for the kids.

I'll come get you and bring you out to the burbs too :flowers:

Let me know the dates and we'll arrange some stuff xx

Saturday week mate and really looking forward to it.

Our kids run through everything, last time I took them to the zoo they hardly looked at an animal and neither could I as I kept having to run after them.

Loads of good things to do here, although not as many in July

I'd hit some of the pubs in the Dandenongs, also do the city and St.KIlda as well as Brunswick and Lygon Streets.

I love Melbourne as well you know :P

Brunswick St is very bohemian, very camden. It has a few nice pubs.

We were in the zoo quite a while but the kids just like to runaround
