I watched all the services and parades on t.v. cos couldn't attend in person. The one they showed today in recognition of the end of WW1 really touched me. The last remaining survivors, three of them, and all over 100 years old. One of the old soldiers was aged 112, he tried to stand to place his wreath but it was just a wee bit too much for him. No royalty, no big wigs or celebrities. Just these 3 old boys and their helpers. One of the young men helping had a victoria cross, yet he was there saluting these old war horses. I only hope the day comes soon when there won't be any more names added to the lists of the fallen.

This year I totally forgot :o I was so ashamed of myself. I think it is such an important day to remember and always used to go along to the services to observe the silence. The sound of the last post always brings tears to my eyes.
