I have noticed that the Aussies tend to put an "o" on a lot of words or phrases, like smoko, ambo, this arvo to name just a few.
Can anyone think of any more? and are there any what annoy you?
One that just sets my teeth on edge is sanger ! I know it doesn't end in o but it bugs me anyway..

Usually names as well Mike becomes Mikeo, Dave - Daveo, or cars Rodeo

The school did an excellent skit with this in mind where Mikeo, Daveo, and Tomo were on smoko driving their rodeo, drinking coco although it went of rages and was hysterical.

It's either 'o' or 'ie' - firie etc. Is sanger sausage? I think it is but I've not heard it here. Snags is the word I know. None of them irritate me though. No different from sarnie, butty and the millions of similar type words in the UK. Don't know why but the word/expression 'G'day' winds me up in that I automatically assume someone is taking the peess

Sanger is sandwich.

The thing that irritates me the most is at the end of Channel 7's 10.30 news they say "That's all t'now." What the heck is t'now?

The only word I can think of that really really really winds me up is the QLD/NSW pronounciation of Maroon (QLD Rugby League team in the State of Origin comp. Everyone Australian pronounce it Marone - Aggggghhhhhhhhh. The arguments every June is hysterical. It's MarOOn people, like spoon and moon. Not sodding Marone. :she:
