Today was the third big cricket match that had to be cancelled because of rain up in Brisbane.

Is Brisbane always like this or is it just since Melibeam moved there. :P

Actually we could do with the rain down here. I know Hup & Hevs were almost out of water at the weekend.

It seems like its just rained almost non stop since we have moved here.

Actually its not that bad (remember I grew up in Ireland)! I think its much worse down on the Gold Coast and further inland and up on Sunshine Coast as they have serious flooding. We have nothing as bad as that in bayside Brisbane. All we have is a muddy back garden :(

Its annoying as I cant hang my washing out to dry, but even with the rain its still hot.

Jason is annoyed though and keeps mentioning the weather in Melbourne

A mate of mine has just emigrated to Hervey Bay (sneak left when I was off sick) and has only had 1 day of rain since he got there 3 weeks ago. He rang me at work this morning to say it was 1830hrs in Oz, he'd just finished his shift in A&E and he was relaxing with a bottle of wine. It had rained whilst he was in work and was just easing off, he didn't seem worried but then it was 30 degrees.... who would :tantrum: me 'cos I'm not there!!!!!!!!

No need to go that far, just pop over here to WA, we had about 20 mins of rain yesterday morning, the first in almost two months!

we had a huge thunder storn last night but still no rain....... and it feels as though the temp has been over 35 for weeks, i usually like it hot but the humidity is making things a tad uncomfy.

What is really annoying me is that the Hinze Dam is overflowing and they wont lift the level 6 water restrictions - how mad is that  Would you not think the government here would lift the restrictions until the dam settles again, no they would rather waste the water and let it flow over the sides causing more flooding - idiots

Actually its pretty bad where we are this afternoon, really loud thunder and torrential rain. I just tried to drive Shane to Victoria Point to a friends but got two mins down the road and it was flooded so I turned back and he has been shouting abuse at me ever since telling me I am a crap driver  as I wont risk going out again this evening

I was supposed to be working a twelve hour shift tonight too but it got cancelled within two hours of starting, so I will be paid for two hours anyway  and I was actually glad because I was a bit scared of driving up to the city with his heavy rain.

Now I can stay home and listen to Shane instead

am with you two on that one - no real air con here (tiny box on wall which does a tiny square metre area), fans are on and still sweat is pouring off me all the time. Yesterday it seemed hotter after the storm

I've just switched our air con off and have gone round opening all the windows as it is getting really quite blowy now. Perhaps we've another storm on the way :dunno:

our house is all the wrong way round, none of the windows seem to catch the wind, either that or it's completely sheltered by the lovely new house next door

My swampy is fairly useless in this humidity. The kids are asleep so I'm off for a cooling dip in the pool.

Ooops! Lost yet another tree in the wind. Why is it that every time a tree comes down on our property it falls on the fence? This is the second time we've had one blocking our driveway. Still at least it's greenwaste collection in a couple of weeks. I wonder if that's a valid excuse to stay off work til then

Your trees have never been the same since that bloke was next door with his chain saw have they.

Doesn't seem that bad, but it didn't seem that bad when we had two big branches come down inches from our power line last week. They fell on the fence between us and our nice neighbour so he just got his chainsaw out the next morning and cleared it all for us

If he had been a tad tastier I would have been tugging on my trees myself to get him round to my place for a chopping. Alas a 65 year old skinny Aussie in speedos doesn't help to keep my breakfast down
