going the other way for now, i recon its around 3ks away but i'd rather the wind didn't change direction, we'd be ok but there are quite a lot of new houses between us and it.

What so you think they will go up and make it come towards your place? If it came directly towards you though you would surely be in trouble :o I would be shitting myself if I saw that :o I can remember someone on AB posting up a picture of the helicopter flying by his house spraying water everywhere as the fire was very close last year (I think) and I couldn't believe he was still in his house! Is there fire fighters everywhere around you?

No we should be fine, the winds not likely to change before morning, I havent looked out for a bit but we can't smell smoke so its going the other way. The photo was actually taken from the end of the street my brother used to live on which is a 5 min walk from here, the view from here wasn't as good cos there were houses in the way. bit its amazing how quickly it spread just in the 5 mins while we were watching. Nature is awesome even when its being destructive.

Flippin eck, I haven't heard about that one. So is it Yanchep/ Two Rocks way ? Surely must be deliberate, it hasn't been that hot and no storms.

No it's Butler/Carabooda/Nerabup sort of area, we have a peat fire which has been going for nearly 2 years, it smoulders off and on when the weather is warm then it will flare up but this seems closer, there is a lot of clearing going on for new buildng so it could have been caused by some of the machinery i guess.

HOLY SHITE!

When I was in Armadale the same happened with the Roleystone (?) hills. Leah was 5 months old, teething, high temp and there was no air con. All i remember is the heat, it was unbearable. That and the smell.

Hope you are all ok hun
