sounds like a good idea Anne!

our tests are at midday and 1pm (have to have them after each other so one of us can look after K!!) next Thursday, the 11th

I am going to see if our friends at Morley are about so we could pop into them too..... if they are maybe we could pop to you later afternoon, 3ish? is that any good for you?

Oh bugger :( Thursday is the only day so far that I am booked up. I've got the dentist first thing and then I'm taking my sister to Perth mint as a surprise for her birthday. It's her day off work, she's lived here for nearly 20 years, has always wanted to go and has never been so I've told her not to do any overtime on that day but she doesn't know why.

Bloody typical

Yep, as of yesterday anyone wanting to apply for citizenship has to do the test first...

as if moving to a new country and living thousands of miles away from your friends and family isnt enough of a test.

sorry, am feeling very negative again today... :blushing: :(

That is quick..............compared to the long wait it took for you to get your visa in the first place!

Don't fret Bridie you will pass them and will have a lovely day out to boot. (If not blame Anne for not changing her plans to fit you in  )

because we want to have our ceremony on australia day and there is no way we'll be able to if we wait to take the test in december... and my parents wanted to come in january to be here for it....

i have written an email to the local Bunbury MP voicing my concerns, see if it does any good....

it doesnt seem fair that if you live in perth you can go the following week but if you live in the country yet again you are penalised and have to wait eight weeks....

when i did mine, i had to wait 8 weeks for an interview and then more than 5 months for a ceremony date, i booked my interview before i was eligable to apply for citizenship so i had the interview 2 weeks after my 2 years were up, then the long wait. We were trying to have our ceremony with friends but it didn't work out and looking back i can't remember too much about it anyway.

Yes, you can do the test before the two years is up and kids dont take unless they are over 18 (think it's 18 but might be best to check!!)

We have our interview on the 18th in 13 days. Hopefully our ceremony will come through before Australia day as we'll be on holiday.
