Indeed we do TC.

That reminds me of a little story of my own.

We had 3 cats and I had a special whistle I would give them when it was grub time. They always came scampering when they heard me whistle and I used it to ensure I got them in overnight.

One day Spike, a ginger and white tom went missing. We did everything practical to find him like advertise and check with vets but after a couple of months they told us it was unlikely we would see him again.

I never gave up and Gill used to laugh at me as when we went walking anywhere I used to give the special whistle for feed time. I said you never know he might hear it one day.

Anyway 2 more months passed and one morning there he was on the doorstep. He was in a very reasonable condition so must have received a helping hand somewhere and for that I'm thankful. We often asked him where he had been but he kept his little escapade a secret.

I sometimes do the special whistle now and half expect him to turn up in Australia.

ah, what a happy ending - lucky cat.

My eldest in the UK went missing for weeks once. One day I opened the front door and she was walking past - I called her and she looked round but didn't seem to recognise me. She was skinny and had lost a lot of claws and fur on her paws so had probably been locked in a shed somewhere. I have no idea how she survived that but she did, bless her.

Then a couple of years later she went missing again - she'd been shut in the playhouse at the bottom of the garden. After a couple of days she sat in the window so I could see her - never miowed to let me know when I was calling her !!
