well its cloudy but sunny here in sheffield ... we managed to get away with only showers over the last couple of days when they have given out severe weather warnings; but got up to the news this morning that lots of areas down south are flooded :(

apparently we arent getting a summer this year ...

I know, just had email from SIL, they live in Bracknell, Berks and the whole area is flooded - even Reading train station. The part of Berks that they live in has a lot of farmland and lanes that are in the area around Bracknell and most of those lanes have been underwater, most of the roads have been shut because of flooding.

is it still raining in the UK?

Nestled in an obscure pocket of Leicestershire, it's been quite sunny here the last few days an is again today. My home grown carrots are flourishing...... good job really as the floods have ruined many crops.

There is a national shortage of Brocolli and Asda (Walmart) are shipping some in from the states this week. Prices are already going up.

The news has been all about the towns, no water, no electricity in some places, but the farmers must be having an awful time.

Can't believe how much of the UK has been flood and the extent of it all is so unexpected here..... even though it is all floodplane areas. (Why are we never prepared in the UK?)

One of Davids concerns was the storms, fires etc in Oz .....now we have the UK floods! As he point out, we have no river for miles, and the town is on a hill.

I've been working too much for the weather to bother me. (hence my absence from the forum)

All of you that may have families in the flood areas I hope all is well.

Jane
