Have to say it put my life and whinges into perspective pretty quick! i really dont have anything to whinge about really! so what if Alan doesn't get up and cut the grass when i want it done, so what if the house improvements arn't finished when they are supposed to, at least we still have each other and are fit and well! I shall give him a big hug at bedtime and thank my lucky stars! |

I have just read the news myself and told my husband. I cant believe it, seriously cannot believe it. Life is very unfair - cruel actually. My thoughts are with both of them. |

Shit, thats awful :o :o I dunno ... there seems to have been a run of shit happening to people on be lately ... life is so fekkn rotten. but there can be happy, positive outcomes; we only have to look at hevs and hup to see that, so heres hoping they have a positive outcome to what must be a mind-numbingly unbelievable time for them. I wonder why they are returning to the uk? is it for family support? stupid question i suppose, sorry, just wondering out loud; hope they havnet been out of the uk for too long and encounter problems with accessing healthcare; i suppose the uk is an oncology treatment leader, so they will get the best care. jeeez, kinda puts thing in perspective, doesnt it? how do you convey whats in your heart to someone who is, in effect, a stranger ... 'cyber hugs' seem so pathetic somehow ... :( |

Went onto BE to have a look, and a see there's another poster from our Southampton meets that has prostrate cancer
:( Terrible to think we all met up a few times with a shared dream, thought we were now having our dream realised and it has been whipped away from them
:( Life can be very cruel. |

I also wondered, its probably the family stuff :dunno: The health care here (in VIC anyway) we found to be wayyyy better than previous expierience with acute care in the UK and we often stop in our tracks and dread to think about Matt in the NHS (where we lived at least  ) whatever their reasons, i REALLY feel for them all....... :( |

I think if i were in their shoes I would head back to the UK too. They have 2 kids and without the family around them, whatever they have to deal with in the future would be pretty tough. With both of them being sick at the same time, the kids are going to need someone around, and when and if the worst happens, I can imagine they would want them in the same country as their family. What an awful thing to have to go through, and both at the same time. Steve left a message on BE yesterday, and seemed his normal self, trying to flog his TV and Spa no less  |

I still feel too lost for words to post on the thread on BE. They are such nice people. I can fully understand them going back with them both going to be ill at the same time and with such small children. |

I got sucked in. I did a sympathy post (which i wanted to do cos, lets face it, theres bugger all else i can do) THEN i started reading and before i know it i'm miffed at the people who turn it into some sort of crusade against the percieved whingers. "how dare they miss Tesco" when theres terrible stuff happening etc. FFS everyones human and everyones allowed to feel down. Just because they are not facing life and death, they are still entitled to FEEL. I used to get uncomfy when people answered my threads with stuff like "ohh i was whinging about my knicker elastic, now i feel bad" WHY?? Flynn being sick didn't change the knicker elastic into super knicker elastic did it? NO! So why feel bad. Thats life OK, I've just hopped down :blushing: |

i know what you mean hevs, some people dont understand how to empathise, and it turns into patronising drivel ... some feel the need to quantify whatever it is that has upset them and fit it into some semblance of importantness; when in actual fact, once they switch their pc off they dont give another thought to the person they have just sent their 'heartfelt sympathies' to ... hevs, can i use your stepladder to get down too? |

i think i know where your coming from Hevs Try and follow me on this one.... this is not meant to offend anyone just drunken rambling thoughts (yes again) In that persons life, let's say knicker elestaic, that is important to them adn not getting what they want is making their life unhappy, it doenst make them a less person than the person with cancer or whatever In all honesty, yes it shook me, yes it made me look at what i've got rather than what i've not got, bt then i'm pretty happy with what i've got anyway (not many moans and groans from me) whether we know these people or not, we can not possible say we understand or know what they are going through unless we have stood in their shoes 100%, we can surmise what it feels like, we can be shocked for them but we dont really know (or even have a clue) what is going through their minds! right enough waflling for me, you dont have to read all that, just hope it sort of makes sense coz im not good at putting thoughts into words especailly when i;m drining |
