After much running around we have made an offer on the Bakery in Eldorado and it has been accepted:) All we have to do now is sort out the finance and then get plans drawn up etc and live on a building site for a few months before we have the house of our dreams (or pretty close  ).
So here we go now on the rollercoaster ride of renovations  .

Good luck, i really do envy you being able to get your teeth in to a project like that. Hopefully you will be finished when we finally get to oz. So you can give us the grand tour.

Which one is that one? Is that the first one that needed renovating? Congratulations Nicky on your new pad though

Thats fantastic, you must be so excited. I still can't help thinking of Marcus Tandy though when you say Eldorado.

I got my preliminary plans through today and got all excited about our build again.

Thanks everyone. Here is a link to the brochure http://www.stockdaleleggo.com.au/wangaratt...ERNET_ID=146267. The idea is that we will renovate (keeping the heritage bits) extending the house to link up with the bakery buiilding and making that our living room. We are just going through the formal signing bits at the moment and should have the keys (all being well) in 3 months. We are stretching it as much as possible as we have our current rental for another 6 months ans I won't be working until the end of the year.
It will be a long slog but Eldorado is a nice little town not too far from Wangaratta so it will suit us fine. The name of the place does take some getting used to (still makes me giggle) and when you look at the history it is a bit of an exaggeration as they didn't fina ALL that much gold there. Now it is a lovely little town full of artisty types (all the wierd hippies who can't deal with Wangaratta) so it suits me down to the ground.
You will all be more than welcome to come and have a look for yourselves.
Thanks everyone.
Nicky :dance2:

Bearing in mind the Estate agents name "Leggo" David hopes you checked what type of bricks the house is made of..........

Seriously, Congratulations! and good luck with the project

I would have had to drag Ian away kicking and screaming if it had been made of lego and we wouldn't have had to pay for the extension as we have more than enough bricks here to have done it ourselves :P .
