Hi, :new: we are the Fitzgerald family and are new to the site. We are awaiting our visas and should hopefully hear some time in September. We are completely innocents to the whole process of emigrating and although we are all excited we are also very scared of the whole thing. There is myself, Lorrayne and my husband George and our two daughters, Megan (16) and Clara (4). George works over here as a site manager in the construction industry. He was originally a carpenter and got through his skills assessment on his carpentry skills. I work as a part time Legal PA but also do a bit of hairdressing and catering as a sideline. Could anyone give us any information on the Buderim area, ie the schools both for both our kidz and also on the area itself and jobs We are hoping to come over in November as a fact finding tour and stay near Buderim and then hopefully do the final move in January of 2008. Any information will be gratefully received. We are excited about starting our new life but have no family or friends in Brisbane. George's sister emigrated to Perth approx 12 years ago and although we visited her there last year we preferred Brisbane and surrounding areas more to our liking. Any responses would be nice :dance2: |

:) I was an in at the deep end immigrant having not even visited Australia in advance. The number one item above all else to remember Lorrayne is that just before flying out you should transfer your nestegg to Commbank account 553344 in the name of Bix :D I've never been to the SC but understand it's mighty good Look forward to chatting  :) |

G'day Lorrayne and family and :welcome: aboard. I would imagine you've already searched the Aussie version of Google for Buderim? If not, click here. ;) It's quite a long while since I was last in Buderim, but I remember is as being pretty, very hilly and a very quiet area. It's probably changed since then though. It's not too far from Noosa, which is a fab holiday spot although expensive. Let us know how you get on and, if you like, we can organise a meeting with a few members when you come over in November. :gossip: :bar:  |
