I really think the final selling of the house is the worst bit of the whole journey. Good luck with it Beki. You'll get it sorted soon, I'm sure.

Thank you for being there! I'm beside my self with worry now. If this house sale had gone smoothly I'd have one way flights booked, a house sorted, our stuff sent but still we live in limboland!

This afternoon/evening we had a lovely farewell get-together with friends from LEO's school and both their teachers turned up plus 6 tables of other friends. We gathered at The Twynersh, Chertsey and I must say I was really chuffed with the support. I only sent the flyer out for the get-together on Friday so what a fantastic show of friendship!

Tomorrow we send our boxes to be shipped, if the house sale breaks down now we're seriously up shite creek! ( it wont surely but nothing is legal yet so hold your horses I might be asking a ship to go in reverse yet!)

You guys are great, I hate moaning because really I'm excited as an excited thing about this move but just wish once in a while the process went our way. :(

:flowers: :flowers: Thanks again for being there! :flowers: :flowers:

We thought we were going to exchange weeks ago, then Thursday was the day we were promiced because that was the day that the buyers were signing and handing over the deposit-instant transfer she told me. I'm just soooo fed up, the solicitors just keep passing the buck. We had our house valued in November last year, had buyers by February, there's no chains, I just can't understand what the hell is going on!!!??? We signed our contract about 3/4 weeks ago.

This whole house sale lark is making me feel ill

We had a rough time when we sold our UK house Beki.

No chain involved but always a plausible excuse for a delay.

Eventually the buyer pulled out after nearly 6 months. Bottom line was that in spite of all the promises from solicitors and estate agents the buyer did not have the funds and could not raise them.

We had also signed contracts.

If there is no chain involved with yours why is there any delay ?
Maybe the same situation is facing you.

Get tough.

If they can't raise the funds the sooner you know about it the sooner you can get the house back on the market.....sad as that is.

What evidence is there that they have the money ? Did your estate agent vet them ?

Tell them you are about to take the property off the market and put it to rent instead. That means no fees for said estate agent so may spur him into some positive action.

What have you to lose ?
They either want the house or not.
They've taken the pee for long enough.

Hope you get it sorted Beki - you do sometimes wonder what you are paying solicitors for when all you get is excuses. It`s stressful enough at the moment for you without this - fingers crossed it`s sorted soon :)

I must admit I like the house buying process here in Oz. NO pulling out at the last minute or messing people around with dates

Rich has done the chasing up today, I'm just so sick of it.

He said the buyers solicitor has found an admin mistake about who owns the other two thirds of the house. Before the housing association owned them it was owned by Spelthorne Council. We are now waiting for comfirmation from Spelthorne Council that they did in fact sell the shares on years ago, before even we owned our third of the house!

FFS, does that sound like bullshite? My gut feeling keeps tugging at me on the lines of your experience Bix, in which case, we're well and truely f*****! We've sent off our boxes now and Rich is saying we should just book our one way flights and let them get on with it! :o He says our solicitor is 100% sure the house is sold and this is purely an admin delay.

I can't eat I can't sleep I never cry but this has got to me so much, why us, what have I ever done to deserve such a nightmare? :dunno:

Natural feelings Beki.
Natural reaction to the utter frustration.

I really do know what you are going through.....we came a hairsbreadth from going bust due to the shite we had. Worked out in the end but with no slack left.

The answer is of course you have done nothing at all.

Thanks Bix. Rich is confident things will get sorted and if the money from the sale isn't in the bank when we go we'll just have to lean rather heavily on credit cards. I'm just so scared this is going to be ruin of my dream of a better life for us. I've worked so hard to get where we are over the last two years and I want to feel excited and happy but I wont be able to enjoy it until the house is sorted. :depressed:
