Whats the best option for moving all you stuff to a new home? I have only moved once (except moving to Oz) and did a DIY job, but it was bloody stressful and I don't know if I fancy doing it again with a 3 yr old

How expensive are removal firms? I dont want full packing service, just a couple of strong blokes with a big van?

Ta

Chattermonster Extraordinaire!

We have done both here: first time we had a removal company and it was pretty easy, about $200 I think from memory (but it was over a year ago now)

This time we hired a van as we were just moving down the road. Had a friend to give Malc a hand (as of course I couldnt lift anything heavy - shame!) and all done in a couple of hours. Van hire wasnt a lot, less than $100 for the whole day.

I'd say it depends on distance, because this was a shorter move (literally a minute down the road) we did three trips so wasnt so bad, but the first move was right across town, about 20-30 minute journey, so it was much easier to just pay someone and do it all in one hit.

HTH :)
