Just to update you all - OH managed to find a small M & M tube in youngests bedroom on the weekend. I half filled it with water, added half an alka seltzer and 32 seconds later it "popped" big time. Today she repeated the experiment in school - she was the first one to complete it - and got 5 out of 5 - so well done everybody !! :flowers:

No one is allowed to copy her now so they all have to find different experiments to do, good luck I say

Don't even joke about it as I was awful at the maths side of things got myself into a right tizz. One question that threw me at the time was you have 50 frogs and toads in a pond, there are 10 more frogs than toads so how many toads are there???? Gawd I hate those sorts of questions especially when I hadn't looked at it and had all these wide eyed 8 year olds staring at me for some sort of direction

Or is it that you divide it by 2 giving you 25 then add on 10 so you have 35 frogs and 15 toads????

Or as I cheated I told the kids to read it there were 50 frogs so if there were 10 more frogs than toads you have 40 toads

Somehow I don't think they will ask me back to help again  I was also meant to fill in a form for them everytime a kid finished a certain question but I couldn't find the form so just filled in the info in their books.....when I told the teacher she said it was in the back of their books Oopps :mah: I did offer to go and sort it out but she kind of told me not to bother with very clinched teeth, gawd I'm crap give me teenagers any day

I am having to do maths and science as part of my course and we had to sit a year 8 maths test  .
At least at the moment I am in with preps so can't go wrong with their maths :blushing: .

The biggest problem with Ian being a rocket scientist is the constant projects with the kids. We have a serious aroma of vinegar at the moment as he is working on the mark3 vinegar rocket launch pad  . Most of it ends up on him as he hasn't organised a remote launch for this one yet (I would love to be a fly on the wall with the neigbours hee hee). We got one of the other rockets clear over the house and into the front lawn  .
