It's about time we had some more photos. I want to see how my room is progressing  I hope you don't think I'm joking. Terry and I have just been talking about trying to make a holiday over east in about a year's time. Thought we could pitch up a PR's for a few days then hire a car and come up to you for another few  :blushing: |

It's MY room, I tell you! :handbags:  As for pitching up here, you're welcome any time ... but don't think that the drive to Mission Beach from Brisbane is a wee stroll in the park! :o That's one hell of a 'drive' you're talking about. :S P.S. I agree: we need some updated pix!  |

Hang fire I'll just upload some into Photobucket. It has altered heaps since the last lot of photos, they have now started the cladding and the windows have been going in. All the wiring is now done including a fab system called Cbus which allows you to be all flash and set "moods" by a click of a button! (posh aren't we
 The bank is putting the thumb screws on us at the moment so we have had to lay off the carpenters as at the end of this month so things are pretty hectic trying to get everything they need to do finished in time. The problem we have found is the bank is treating us like a builder and saying we need to be up to a certain stage before handing over any more cash...only problem is we need that cash to carry on! A good example is that we can't buy our kitchens becasue we're not at that stage in the payments yet we need to be ordering it all now so it will be ready for when we need to fit it but instead we may have to wait anything up to 3 months for it to be made once the cash has been released! CRAZY! Also the valuer from the bank has said we have only spent $156000 on the house at this stage but we have spent double this amount so it has cocked it all up for us....I would love to know where he buys all his materials and who he employs to get this house for that kind of cash  My hands are sore, my legs ache in fact I have bruises and cuts to put down as war wounds from all of this. Roy is knackered and the pair of us are getting arsey at each other from tiredness. The kids have had enough of being dragged there every weekend and week night. Over all though it hasn't been too bad and we are hoping to get in there at the end of this month maybe kitchen less but so long as there is hot water for a shower and a toilet that flushes we can cope. It would be so much easier then as the kids will be entertained having their own stuff around them instead fo the chore of dragging everything over every weekend so that they have something to do! |

OK first picture, so that Anne and Pr know where how their little place is going, is the guest room all cladded and looking fab!
:D Posted Image This is just one small pile of louvre blades we had to cut down last weekend 460 of the damn things in that pile alone! :o Now this weekend it's our job to sand and varnish them all. Posted Image The walls have been rendered along with the pool edging ready for tiling (although this will have to wait for a while. Posted Image This is the bedroom side which is now all cladded and looks great...along with my solar panel and tank on the roof. Posted Image My little office is finally in and cladded Posted Image A bit blurred but these are the curlews and if you look very closely you can make out the chick lying flat on the ground. Here's a few more... This is Cassy the female cassowary that calls in everyday to our house. The male or Wary as the kids have named them  is sitting on the eggs at the moment. Posted Image This is my stonking good looking wall all nice and rendered. The red strip is the water blade feature into the pool. We have some galleries and louvre blades to go into the openings so we can shut it all up or let the air flow through as we so desire. Posted Image This is my ensuite, first section will be for my bath and vanities, then toilet to the right and shower on the left with the walk in robe at the far end. (kids playroom at the moment!) Allt eh ceilings have been battened out ready for gyprock and we are going to have the showdow line running around them all so this all took extra time to create. Posted Image Since taking these pictures it has all changed again as there is now wiring and plumbing crap everywhere throughout the house plus a lot more windows have gone in and even door frames! I went to see my new massive sliding doors the other day in cairns and they are just totally sexy in a BIG way. Hopefully they will be delivered this week coming so things will alter dramatically then. The only problem is the door furniture is coming up form Melbourne so it has delayed everything....I think it is coming up on the back of a donkey as it is taking forever  |

Sasha it all looks fantastic, you have a truly unique home, seeing all the pics make me feel like i'm watching an episode of grand designs and i can't wait to see the end result. It's amazing the difference in the styles of homes in the different areas, way different from what you see here in the west. |
