Walkign through the main entrance fo the house you come along side the pool and onto the decking area (guest PR's room straight ahead)
Posted Image

The pool from the decking, the wall will go up slightly higher (by another 2 blocks) to make it more private and in the middle of the two windows which will have louvres put into them eventually, will be the water blade with a nice feature ont he wall behind it.

Looking back at the deck.

This is me sitting in my pool wishing it was full and I had a cold beer :D

These our two regular visitors, they came underneath the house and found an old banana thrown out by the builders. This is the male and his chick about 6 or 7 months old now.

lol I was yesterday sitting there drinking a beer thinking this is going to bloody lovely when it is full and finished :D

I can see I'll have to start up a bookings diary as to when we will have visitors

The brickies have finished today so the wall is slightly higher and it has made it a lot more private on the decking area. I've booked a conrete pump for Thursday to core fill all the walls ready for the crane to come on Monday to lift up all the BIG beams and trusses so by next week it should alter dramatically once again....so excited :D

The one carpenter still didn't show up today and Roy seen him on another job and asked if he was going to go over later on, he then said maybe by the end of the week (this is the one that has been mucking us around and said last week definitely today ) so Roy said just let us know for sure otherwise we would get another carpenter so his reply came back as go ahead.... Roy was well peeed off as we have wasted enough time waiting for him but then I think well at least we know for sure and can go ahead and find someone else. Roy spoke to someone else who said he knew what was going on and it was nothign personal so it sounds like a site politics thing going on that we don't know about.

I thought it was high time to tell you all what has been happening on the house building front again

Well we went down to 2 carpenters as the other one suddenly upped and left us but we were and are very happy with the 2 we have left. All the walls are up and the trusses are now on, the main bedroom wing now has a roof and most of the outdoor entertaining bit is also covered - we ran out of long sheets so another 10 are arriving on Monday to finish off that area.

The plumbers have been and with Roy's help have under slung all the pipes underneath the house along with the ones poking up ready for the bathrooms. The bathrooms have been the only floors that were down in the house bar the decking but now we have FLOOR  and it looks really good :D

We've heavily christened the place now (along with PR's help on one session) and the next big session is being planned once the roof is finished with a heap of musical peeps coming along for a BBQ, campfire jamming session (can't wait for that one!)

We are now into the mortgage and still paying rent, totally crippling us so it seems daft but Roy has given up work for a while just to get us in to the place. We are hoping that will happen next month, which will make things so much easier.

Had a few dramas but nothing too major the only one that has peeed me off was after numerous faxes, phones calls, emails to a joinery to make our huge doors we agreed and paid a deposit 4 weeks ago. We were told they would be 6 weeks so yesterday we planned to pop up to Cairns to sort out a few details and decided to pop into see how our doors were progressing only to be met by the owner saying they hadn't started them  They hadn't started them as they never go off the quote for measurements.........WTF had I been doing all this time???? the dumb fookwits  Anyway after I got very shitty and Roy got angry at me for being a right shitty bitch to the owner (annoyed that had been holding $4000 of ours all this time and didn't think to confirm things even though I had been ringing them!!!!!) They said they would start them straight away and it would take a couple of weeks so we are still within our 6 week deadline I gave them. I have to say it was a really nice looking joinery and they had some fab bits and bobs on display.

So down the next argument - colour - Roy wants it to be painted gunpowder grey to match the roof!!! I'm opting for a very neutral colour on the main walls but want to spice it up on the block walls. The bets are now being taken as to which way it ends up (quick tip for you it won't be Roy ;) )

We've now decided on our tiles as of yesterday, other external doors, and basically Roy has now sorted out what audio and visual he will have (if I let him and only if the house isn't gunpowder grey!) He wants to have a drop down projector screen in the outdoor entertaining area and the full bells and whistles regarding a good sound system out there.

My carport is to be poured at the start of next week and as of today we now have a 3rd carpenter that turned up on site this morning. Hopefully this will move things along even faster.

Cost wise we are under budget on quite a lot of things although it is hard to say for definite as only two areas have really been finished out of all of our budget and that is the steel and excavation.

The pool and walls will be rendered this week as well. Roy has been busy fitting our water blade into the wall which looks fantastic but he has also been spending a lot of time trying to get the walls a bit straighter ready for the render to save a bit of cash.

I will put up some new pictures once photobucket is back online :D

 nice one Claire

Heather - yeap we will be in it soon, the floor is virtually finished in that long stretch down the bedroom wing and they even wrapped up the walls at the Guest bedroom end which is where we are planning on crashing. It will be far from perfect and we will be cooking on the BBQ and our trusty old camping gas ring, but we will be in there

Roy has sealed the floors today with a sanding sealer so the weather won't damage it before we get a chance to sand it properly and varnish it. It looks amazing all different colours from reds to browns really really pleased with it...I'm getting so excited now :D
