PMSL at you two

Just done another run around getting more steel plates to be welding to my stumps (:P ), paid out another heap of cash (getting worried as to how fast that is being thrown about), argued with a supplier that I would dearly love to tell him where to stick his trusses but alas the money difference is so large I can't, and now Roy wants to get in a bricky as the blocks walls have been extended so there is quite a bit of blockwork to be done. Had to rush in to get another cheque for the concrete wagon and pay them and I should now be pricing up other materials but instead I'm nattering on here

How much beer do you think I should give them? It is a blinking hot day today and as it's a Friday (I want to be a nice boss ) I was going to take round a carton of beer, there is only 3 of them unless I stay for the party :D

They drink on the nextdoors block so I'm covered for Health and Safety and they all live literally in the next street from us so no driving required....don't worry PR the cops around here are right sticklers and I don't want that one on my mind

Builders are having the weekend off as they are knackered but Roy has been over there painting the tops of the stumps so they don't rust. We can't paint them all as yet as the builders are welding on massive steel bars to a few of the stumps to strap it all together. Judging by the size of the steel this house isn't going anywhere if there is another Cyclone Larry hits us.

Roy has now decided that I need to find a builder as the block walls that need to be put are have been extended. He's a bit worried his block laying won't come up to scratch so that is another $3 or $4k to add to the budget.

The budget so far is looking very good as they are ahead by 2 days and didn't require the machine for as long as they predicted plus then that is 2 days less labour that had been costed for so I'm under budget at the moment which is a good thing.

That said it is costing us over $1000 for a load of concrete to turn up and that has slightly gone over budget due to the price rise. Flipping shocking cost as that is only for 5 metres of concrete per load :o

It is hard to keep tabs on how the budget is going as until all the invoices come in and labour costs are added you can't do it on a daily basis if you know what I mean.
